Thank You, Grandma Kate!

My Grandma Kate's hobby was collecting movies. I know, it's a funny hobby, but it's what she loved. The people at the local video store knew her well. She loved having people over for movie nights and "renting" movies to her friends and family. She would let us rent as many movies as we wanted but we had to sign them out, and if she thought we had them for too long, she would call us and ask us when we were bringing them back.

When Grandma passed away, we were wondering who would continue the tradition. Welll, we do love movies! Woodz and I asked for her movies so we can continue the tradition. We didn't get all of them, but most of them, and we'll rent them out to YOU (sorry, we don't ship, but we might deliver).

'Maters

This spring, we decided we are so poor that we need to grow our own food. Unfortunately, our thumbs aren't so green. The radishes are the size of a marble. The pepper plant is showing no sign of peppering, and the 'mater plant only has given us two tiny 'maters. We still have high hopes for the onions.
Obviously, I am not a fan of the funny fruit, but at least I tried them.

What a Weekend!

Last weekend was VERY eventful. It always is when we go to Woodz's house in Marshall, Michigan. We headed up there last Thursday because Steven had a doctor's appointment on Friday. We got good news from the doctor. His knee is doing well. He can put pressure on it and start walking. Unfortunately, there is no magic button and he has to slowly get back to walking on it. Currently, he can hobble...but walking isn't happening.
After our trip to the doctor, Steven and I had to do a chore down on the farm. Haha. We rode on the tractor together and moved bails of hay. It was my first big tractor ride where I had to do a chore. It was an adventure, but I don't know about doing that ever again. We were so dirty after our three hour tour. I wish I had a picture.
Friday night, we went out to dinner at our favorite pizza place with some of Woodz's buddies. Then, we stopped by a new bar in town. It was a "haunted" bar. It was pretty funny seeing skeletons and bartenders dressed in trashy Halloween costumes in June.
Saturday, we were able to visit with Steven's grandparents before visiting TURKEYVILLE, USA! It's a turkey farm with a gift shop and restaurant. Everything in the restaurant is made with turkey. I had a sloppy turkey....like a sloppy joe....pretty crazy! We were by far the youngest people out there. Apparently, the elderly really love their turkey.

Saturday evening we were able to meet some of Woodz's parents' friends. It was really great to meet more people that are on our wedding guest list. That night, we met up with Steven's wonderful cousins for some swimming time. They are so much fun!
I found this frog relaxing by the pool. If you look in the hole in the birdhouse, you'll see him. :)
Here's Hank, the Woods' newest puppy. He's lots of fun....and sooo cute!

These kids are sooo goofy! Where else but the Woods' barn are antlers lying around?

I spent Sunday in Rushville, Indiana celebrating my cousin's birhtday, my dad's birthday, and father's day. We also celebrated my wonderful, generous Grandma Kate. It was a fun day. Here's the whole family...minus Woodz. He's practically family! (Look at all those girls!)

Happy Birthday, Steve!

Woodz turned 23 a week ago. We celebrated at BWW with his cousin, Rachel. Then, last weekend, we celebrated with my family. Instead of cake, we had s'mores. We had a wonderful weekend at the river.

I got Woodz a "zune" for his birthday. It's like an IPOD. He loves it because he can listen at work when he's so bored and all by himself.
After a fun day on the boat, we enjoyed s'mores to celebrate Woodz's birthday.

Here's another attempt at taking a good picture of us. As you can see, we got a little too much sun. We had a great weekend, though.

This weekend, we are heading to Michigan. Woodz has a doctor's appointment on Friday to check out the progress on his knee. Then, we are going to visit with his friends and family and head back down south on Sunday. We love being able to spend all of this time together!

Stupid Steve!

Steve and I had a good day today. When I got to Illinois, we went and had a picnic in the park, then we went to get ice cream and picked up some fresh bread at a new bakery. While we were at the park, I tried to get some cute shots of us, but he was not cooperating...surprise, surprise. So, I figure I will just put these on here to show you what I deal with. :) ha ha

Oh Well! I still love him.

Relay For Life

The day after Rupert came, I participated in Relay for Life (have to support all the causes). It was a great time. I was on a team with my co-workers. Our theme was "Fishing for a Cure." There were about 60 or so teams from our little town and we won 2 out of 3 decorating competitions. We won Best Spirit Stick, and Best Banner (I made the banner). It was a lot of fun and very meaningful since Grandma Kate just lost her battleThis is our team under the decorated tent. Here we are with our Spirit Stick and our two plaques.
